A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I am not in my painting studio, I am working in my tile studio, and when I take a break, I go for a walk, or bike run, or catch up with garden work or reading.

2. Why do you make art?

I love observing our visual world, exploring the magic and relationship of light and color, and I want to record and share the joy it brings me.

3. What inspires you?

I get a lot of inspiration from reading and from travel, and from just observing the world around me.

4. What/who are your influences?

I often turn to the American painters, Fairfield Porter, Nell Blaine, Lois Dodd, Jane Freilicher, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Milton Avery for guidance.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I would love to chat with Robert Henri for his wonderful insights on art and life, and I would love to meet David Hockney for his joy in both art and life.
